Day 7 hike to Bly Gap

At 7:30 AM we woke up, and packed everything. By 8 AM we started the climb up the mountain. The climb was long, but not so bad since we were fresh. At Deep Gap Shelter, on the other side of the mountain, we rested for a bit, and then started up again. We kept hiking for a while until we found a good flowing stream. There we filled water and had a bar for breakfast. We also met and elderly woman, who told us that it was going to rain that night, and that we should be very careful, so we thanked her. We also met an Indian couple who were hiking on the trail. My dad talked with them for a bit and then we headed out. We kept hiking for a while until arriving at another good flowing stream. By then it was 2 PM, so we stopped and made lunch. For lunch we had Mountain Chili, which did not taste great at all. After cleaning our dishes, we continued our hike. The goal was to get to a Piped Spring at mile marker 76. The hike to the spring took a while, and we arrived there at 5 PM. The bad thing was that it was closed for revegetation. So we had to keep walking. Bly Gap was less than 2 miles away, and it was only 5:00, so we started walking there. At about 7 PM we got to the North Carolina/Georgia border. It was a big accomplishment. We had just finished walking 78.1 miles on the Appalachian Trail! (pic below)

After .1 more miles of hiking we reached Bly Gap. Luckily, there was a pipe right on the trail where we could fill water. After setting up our tent, we went down to the pipe to eat our food. For dinner we had Macaroni and Cheese! It was the best thing ever. With it, we also ate delicious Tuna.

After that we went to bed. We had only one more day left of hiking.
