We woke up at 7 AM because we wanted to start early since it was going to be a long day. We started hiking at 8. In the morning it was a gradual hike up to Moreland Gap Shelter. We stopped at the shelter for a quick break and to much on some trail mix, and then continued on. We decided to hike a few miles more, to mile 417, where we would stop for lunch. At mile 417 there was an amazing view, and we stopped there to eat tuna and roti for lunch. From there we had a 3 mile down to Dennis Cove. At Dennis Cove there were a lot of day hikers going down to the falls. We had a small flat stretch and then down to Laurel Falls. There was a high water trail which we could have taken to save time, but we wanted to see the falls so we went down. The final down to Laurel Falls were very big steps which took us quite a while, but the view of the falls was worth it.

From the falls we had a bit more down and then a long gradual flat to Laurel Falls Trailhead, and from there it was 3 miles up to Pond Flats. Our original plan was to get to Boots Off Hostel, but it was too late so we decided to stop at Pond Flats. The hike up Pond mountain was very tiring and took us a long time. So we stopped on the hike up and decided to eat dinner to get energy. We ate chicken and rice for dinner, and then after that had some upma to fill us up. We then hiked up the rest of the way. We were full, so the hike was easier. By the time we reached the top it was 8 PM, and it was getting very dark. So we unpacked, and set the tent up fast. Once we were done, we talked about the days ahead, and then went to sleep.
